Gesthemane Prayer - from Paul, Excelsior Springs, MO

Father, the hour came when You glorified Your Son so that He could glorify You. You gave Him authority over all people, to give eternal life to all whom You have given Him. So that we may know You, the only True God, and Jesus Christ whom you sent. He glorified You on earth by finishing the work that You gave Him to do. Now, Father, glorify Him in Your presence with the glory that He shared with You in the beginning; before the world existed. He has made Your name known to those whom You have given to Him from the world. We were Yours, but You have given us to Christ Jesus our Lord, and we have kept Your Word. Now we know that everything that You have given Him is from You - and we believe You sent Him. He asked on our behalf, not on behalf of the world, but on behalf of those who You gave to Him, for we are Yours. All Christ's disciples are Yours and Yours His - and He is glorified in us. And now He is no longer in the world, but we are, and He is with You. Holy Father, protect us in Your Name that You gave to Jesus of Nazareth - the Messiah - so that we may be one, as You and Your Son are One. While He was with His disciples He protected them in Your Name that You have given Him. He guarded them, and not one of them was lost except the one destined to be lost - the son of destruction - so that the scriptures might be fulilled. But now He is with You and He spoke these things in the world so that we might have His joy made complete in us. You have given us Your Word, and the world has hated us because we do not belong to the world, just as Christ Himself did not belong here. I am not asking You to take us out of the world, but I ask You - as Your Son did before me - to protect us from the Evil one. We do not belong to the world, just as Jesus did not. Sanctify us in the Truth; Your Word is Truth. As you sent You Son in the world, so has He sent us into the world. And for our sake He sanctified Himself, so that we may be sanctified in Truth. Our Lord did not ask only on behalf of His disciples, but also on behalf of those who will believe in Him through their word, that we may all be One. As you Father, are in Christ and He is in You, may we also be in You, so that the world may believe that You, God, sent Him.

The glory that You have given Christ, He has given to us, so that we may be One, even as You are One. You in us, God, and Christ in You that we may become completely One, so that the world may know that You have sent Him - the Holy One of God - and love us even as You have loved Him. Father, Christ desired that those whom You gave to Him would be with Him where He is, to see His glory, which You gave Him because You loved Him before the foundation of the world. Righteous Father, the world does not know you - for the darkness could not comprehend the Light - but Jesus know You - and we know that You have sent Him. He made Your Name known to us, and He will make it know, so that the Love with which You have love Him may be in us, and Christ in us.

Amen.
